LEVELS
Physical Level: On the physical level this is the form of instant attraction for someone or something. It is about learning to love others for who they are, even if they are quite different from you. This card represents sweet innocent puppy-love. This is where your heart explodes open for some unknown reason and you love this person even though you don’t really know them. It doesn’t matter what their problems are or what their beliefs are. You simply love and want to be in this person’s presence. There is a boundlessly joyful feeling when you are with this person. You see the light inside the person’s soul rather than their personal problems and hang-ups. You may be beginning a new relationship but this is love at the early stage of emotional development. Take some time to get to know this person and find out who they truly are separate from the reflection they represent to you. Remember no one is perfect. Everyone has flaws inside and we are all healing in some way. You may be feeling a powerful attraction to this person on a sexual level. When we recognize someone energetically all of our charkas open. Including the sexual charka. Just because you feel attracted doesn’t mean that you have to become sexually intimate with that person. Look before you leap.

Emotional Level: On this level you realize that everyone is connected in this game called life. There is acceptance of others even if they are a different race or religion. The other person becomes a reflection of some previously unknown aspect that you are fascinated to learn about. The other person mirrors an under-developed aspect within you. This can create a form of infatuation rather than true unending love. This is the beginning of wanting to merge with another. Take the time to first learn to love the differences inside yourself that this person reflects. Emotionally we have the belief, “the Prince married the Princess and lived happily ever after”. This is simply the story line of a fairy tale from when you were a child. Remind yourself that there are very few prince’s anymore and that you are not a princess in this lifetime. Take a look at your true gifts and talents and you will find out that those gifts can be more fabulous than any fairy tale if you let yourself explore the reality you are creating for yourself. True life is more exciting than any fiction. From this place look at the lessons of love and infatuation and see that you are still trying to emotionally mature yourself through learning to merge energetically with others. Give yourself permission to let that be alright. But stay conscious to the potential pitfalls of the illusions of love.

Spiritual Level: On this level the Lovers card taps you into the beliefs that you had as a child. Remember how it was when you believed that you could feed the world and no one needed to go hungry. You knew you could make a difference in the small things you did, such as; picking up cans and garbage, saving aluminum foil, and helping with school projects to raise money. Here you were still innocent and idealistic in your beliefs. You could see the hand of God moving through everything in your life and you felt blessed. You felt that as an individual you could make a difference. You were acting from your spiritual self and your highest personal and social values. This is a good thing. Look to see where you are choosing to rekindle that positive energy and see how to direct it outward into your life. Love is infectious. When you get excited about a dream you can inspire others to get motivated also.

INTERPRETATION
The Lovers astrologically indicates the sign of Gemini. That is because the energy of Gemini loves to think about duality and differences. Nothing in life makes you think more than love. Love is all around and you are on a journey to find out if someone sees you as special and worthy of love This is a time where you are noticing the dualities and balance that comes from opposites. Gemini is about the twins. With twins you can have them be very much alike or not anything alike. This is the conflict when this card shows up. Let’s admit it. You have probably fallen in love with someone. You think they are just like you when actually they are going to end up being very different from you. We learn about love by attracting the opposite type person to us in order to get to know shadow aspects inside.

When we are younger we will tend to fall in love with someone that our parents don’t approve of. The reason is you are exploring who you are by the people you are attracted to. Parents don’t like when they see someone who is so opposite to their perfect child. They think you will become like the person you are falling in love with and that frightens them. And they are correct. You are exploring your shadow through loving someone who is very different from you.

With this card, you are full of innocent bliss and not thinking very clearly. You are smitten with the love bug. You don’t understand why others might disapprove of this person. You are only seeing the positive in them. You cannot see the negative because you are only at the beginning of seeing your shadow.

When you were a child in school, you learned about people by associating with those around you. This was a time to learn how to accept and love others even if they were different from yourself. Maybe you went for the underdog at school. You wanted to be their friend. Maybe you liked the popular group. They made you feel important and part of something. Each was a road to understanding who you were and a way of belonging and identifying with others.

As a child, you become infatuated with people, circumstances and things. You believe that you must have this thing, person or circumstance in order to feel good about yourself. This is an innocent, playful, sweet time in your life where you believe that others love you and you are idealistic in your views of the world.

This card is also about finding balance between your male and female sides by seeing love around you and realizing your connection to all things. This card helps you to learn to be conscious through your relationships. It is a time of giving love and feeling received by others.

With the Lovers card, you are in a time where you are being drawn magnetically to what you are not in touch with inside yourself. You are drawn to people and things that help you to love previously unknown aspects within. Parts that you cannot access internally will become externalized so you can heal and grow through understanding the aspects of duality within.

You are all aspects inside, both male and female. In learning to love others, you become more loving and open to the many diverse aspects of life.

Wars would not happen if everyone was able to love all dualistic aspects within. By learning to love others you become more whole and healed. In loving others you learn to love the aspects they represent to you internally.

Getting the Lovers card can mean that you are in the beginning stages of falling in love. Remember though, it is just the beginning. This is an idealistic form of love. You are not really seeing who this person truly is. You are seeing a reflection of what you want projected onto another.

When you get this card it is a good idea to look to see if you can see beyond your own dream to the truth of this person’s behavior and life.

If you are in a relationship it is important to notice if you can actually see the other person’s shadow. If you cannot find anything wrong with this person, and they appear to be perfect, know that is a warning that you are missing something. No one is perfect. Everyone has their faults. Even teachers on your life’s journeys have had personal challenges in certain areas of their lives.

If you want to believe that this person is the answer to all your problems or has all the answers, you are deep into the illusion of this card. It is then a good idea to step back until you can separate what is real from what is your illusion.

This card is about learning to love and to open. It is good to allow that to happen. However, check to see if this person is honoring the great gift you are giving them by opening your heart also.

When this card shows up it can mean that you are giving too much of your self away to others because of a deep internal need to be accepted. When you love yourself and open, it is easy for others to love you back.

You want to share your true self with another. This is a good thing, so first share that love you feel with yourself by deeply appreciating you.

When you are fulfilled then others will want to bask in the light of who you are.
